About Aurora
On the Trail, four miles east of Biwabik is the city of Aurora, population 2,500. Mining is this area's main industry. The Mesabi Trail travels through town.
 Highlights
The former LTV Steel Mining Company can be viewed from a lookout point at the city's edge. Their Pumpkinfest in October has a quilt show, crafts, and other kids activities. The Independence Day celebration is a favorite with parades, picnics and other special events. In December, the Holiday Heritage Festival offers visitors a chance to celebrate the ethnic heritage of the area with dinner and dances.
Services
A hospital, clinic, lodging, restaurants, convienience stores, parks (one with a kiddie swimming pool), limited shopping, city hall, and post office are located here.
