About Kinney
On the Trail, 11 miles west of Virginia is the community of Kinney, population 240. This charming area offers great small town life with a nice park, playground, and picnic areas. All outdoor adventure opportunities are accessible in Kinney.
Highlights
Kinney is surrounded by a beautiful wilderness with plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities. Although it boasts no real facilities, the area is abundant in wildlife and trail charm. It is located between Chisholm and Mountain Iron on the north side of Highway 169, and south of the mining pits. Gentle slopes and woods border the trail as it crosses lowland bogs on to open land.
Services
A city hall, a park, and a gas station are located in Kinney. Limited but available parking is near the trail head.
