Great River Energy - Mesabi TrailSM Bike Tour '12
Ride for the fun or ride for the challenge, either way mark your calendar for Saturday, August 4, 2012 when Great River Energy and the Mesabi TrailSM again join forces in northern Minnesota to support two state traditions; recreational trails and AMPERS-"Diverse Radio for Minnesota's Communities". The Great River Energy Mesabi TrailSM Tour offers great food, music and family entertainment, all rolled into a unique riding experience on one of Minnesota's premier paved bike trails.
NEW for 2012 (Watch for the entire website to be completed soon - we're still working on final logistics)
Our tour route changes every year as we showcase different portions of the Mesabi Trail. The 2012 route will travel from Grand Rapids to Virginia.
Due to requests from many of our tour riders, we have added a metric century route - our more avid cyclists can now choose a 64 mile route.
The first 300 registrations (individual, couple or family) will be placed in a drawing to have their registration fee refunded and ride for FREE!
All riders registered by July 1, 2011 are entered into a drawing for an official Mesabi Trail jersey ($90 value).
There is a new special discounted "Scout Tour Package" for any scout troops working on their cycling merit badge. Call Club Mesabi at 218-749-4331 for more details.
Registration for the Tour includes all the following fun events, activities and entertainment for one incredibly low price:
Choose from four different routes of 64, 48, 26 or 13 miles - all ending in Virginia.Live concert and picnic dinner at the finish line.Commemorative tour T-shirt for each participant.Three Day Mesabi TrailSM Wheel Pass.Transportation of riders and bicycles from the finish to their chosen start point.
